What is a “Sitter Session” – Cambridgeshire family photographer | Newborn | Maternity | Sitter | Cake Smash | Children | Families

I often get asked what a “Sitter Session” is so i thought i’d show you Rohan’s session in full. These are the perfect session to capture your beautiful baby, at a time when they’ve got the most gorgeous chubby legs, best expressions and have just learnt to sit, these are the perfect session to follow on from the newborn sessions – Suitable from 6 Months and best before baby is on the move.

During the session I will aim to capture all the expressions that make your baby who they are. Capturing those gummy grins, teeny toes, stumpy fingers and of course all those new skills they have just learnt.

All you need is your baby, snacks and some milk and a special outfit! I provide all the outfits and we use two set ups including props.

I try to cover as many poses your baby will let me, they are usually scheduled just after their morning nap and just before lunch! They are a whirlwind of fun giggles, cuddles and you usually hear my very unflattering rendition of “the wheels on the bus….” and other classics!

To get the variety within these sessions its important that your baby can sit confidently but ideal not be on the move just yet! Typical age range is anywhere between 6-9 months depending non your baby’s development stage. This is 6 month old Rohan, the only area we didn’t manage to cover was on his back grabbing that new toy…his feet, as I do not push your baby to doing anything they do not want to do, Rohan was all about tummy time and sitting (oh and ALMOST crawling)! How impressive is that!
