Hey there!

So, new website and I thought after nearly a decade in this industry its probably time to introduce myself! I’m Laura, your local family photographer… let’s be fwends. I specialise in capturing your family authentically and by this I mean you guys just being you. I rarely pose the images I take, instead I go with the mood of the moment photographing the bond you all have together and with a little encouragement from me to loosen up and relax you receive a whole lotta emotion and real family connection in the galleries you receive from me.

So that’s what i’m about, but who am I? I mean we need to be friends don’t we to get the best from each other during session don’t we? So here are some ‘interesting facts’ about me:

I used to sail on the Olympic sailing team in a 470.

I’m a fen girl born and bread (no webbed toes though) with a strange twang of Leeds accent.

I drink A LOT of Pepsi Max.

I regularly get into pickles as I lack the skills to prepare for anything more than 30 minutes before I have to it.

I really hate coffee.

I think i’m funny but i’m not.

I love house plants but can’t seem to keep them alive for long so IKEA fake ones it is for me.

I’m so awkward infront of a camera. I literally go all goofy and suddenly become all animated that you’ll cringe for days. Here’s the proof..

I feel you should meet the real me so we can start our session on a friends level so enjoy some of the outtakes above guys... this session was a great reminder for me as to how amazing you all are when you visit me, it’s not as easy as you all make it look!

What do I do when i’m not working? Besides this job being something I thoroughly enjoy i’m quite an obsessive DIY fan. Well I say that, I have Pinterest boards full of projects my poor dad is destined to have to create for me. I did recently fully renovate my baby girls room though all by myself. until the bed arrived (classic example if my lack of preparation skills) and a very smug husband of mine reminded me that maybe measuring furniture BEFORE you buy it is a good idea. So rather than admit defeat and have to send the bed back I called in my dad to customise it to fit perfectly in the space it was meant for so I almost fully renovated it. I’m still calling this a 1-0 win to me.

Like everyone I enjoy a little drink, family time, music and meeting friends but recently loving a bit of paddle boarding too. Not only is it a really fun activity to do on your own and with the family, after buying one its basically a free summer activity and doubles up as a great tool for scouting hidden locations around here for work!

So lovely to meet you, let’s chat about meeting up and capturing some memories for you

Laura xx
